Taysom Hill Still Hasn't Signed His Tender With the Saints Even Though He Literally Has No Other Choice

There's certainly something to be said for a player that continues to bet on himself. However, at some point, that confidence turns to nonsense.

That's exactly the point we're reaching with New Orleans Saints versatile backup quarterback Taysom Hill, who absurdly hasn't signed his $4.7 million franchise tender. According ProFootballTalk, the 29-year-old doesn't plan on signing the one-year deal anytime soon, but will take part in the team's virtual offseason program.

Is Hill aware that he literally doesn't have a choice but to sign the tender or sit out his age-29 season? Back in March, the Saints placed a first-round tender on the former BYU star. As expected, he remained with the franchise after zero teams submitted an offer for him.

One way or another, Hill has to accept the offer unless he wants to lose a year of football. In a contract year, that's just not going to happen, especially since the beloved Swiss Army knife believes that he can be a franchise quarterback...despite attempting just 13 passes in his 424 career offensive snaps.

In 2019, Hill was a menace in the running and passing game (and on special teams) for New Orleans, producing 390 yards from scrimmage and seven touchdowns. At some point, he will sign the tender and assume his role as playing second fiddle to Drew Brees.
