VIDEO: Former Teammates Sammy Watkins and Stephon Gilmore Get Into Scuffle During Patriots-Chiefs
By Scott Rogust
New England Patriots cornerback Stephon Gilmore and Kansas City Chiefs receiver Sammy Watkins have one thing in common: they were both first round selections by the Buffalo Bills. Before they were teammates, they were on opposite sides of the heated Clemson-South Carolina rivalry. That bad blood from college reared its ugly head on Sunday, as the two players engaged in a wrestling match that reached deep into the Kansas City sidelines.
There was no separating the two athletes, as evidenced by the multiple players from the Patriots and Chiefs trying to break things up. Things could have gotten much worse, considering they could have tripped over the numerous camera wires on the ground.
For all the officiating aficionados around the world, there were no penalties charged to either player.
There was no Christmas gift exchange between Gilmore and Watkins. Only season's beatings.
