Saquon Barkley's Explanation for Fast Recovery From Ankle Injury Will Delight 'Black Panther' Fans
By Scott Rogust
During rookie Daniel Jones' sensational rookie debut in Week 3, the New York Giants lost star running back Saquon Barkley to a high ankle sprain. The injury keeps a normal human being out between four and eight weeks.
But Barkley, being an absolute freak of nature, is already running and cutting just over a week after the injury. So, what's the secret to Barkley's accelerated recovery?
The answer was an easy one for the Giants rusher. He jokingly divulged that he went to Wakanda.
Marvel fans know exactly what Barkley is talking about. For those who don't, here's your explanation.
Wakanda is the homeland of superhero Black Panther, aka T'Challa, and is one of the more technologically advanced places in the Marvel universe. Yes, that includes medical technology, hence Barkley's rapid recovery.
Humor aside, Barkley's practice videos this week have football fans in awe. In fact, Giants head coach Pat Shurmur won't rule him out for this Sunday's game against the Minnesota Vikings. Seriously.
At the time of the injury, Barkley told the media that he suffered a similar injury during his freshman year at Penn State, but missed just two games. If Barkley misses Week 5, he's on pace to match that timetable and make medical professionals look foolish.
Saquon Barkley is a confirmed superhero. Yes, the heart-shaped herb is the only explanation for this.
