Saquon Barkley owns up to game-changing drop vs. Falcons
It turned out to be a nightmare home debut for Eagles running back Saquon Barkley in Philly. At the end of the game, it looked like Barkley and Co. were going to improve to 2-0 with a close win over the Falcons.
However, that didn't happen. Instead, on 3rd down, Jalen Hurts tossed a perfect ball for Barkley to come down with. He dropped it, giving the Falcons new life. Kirk Cousins took advantage, hitting Drake London for a touchdown with less than a minute to go to tie things up - then the PAT gave Atlanta the lead and the win. This one is on Barkley.
Shortly after the final whistle, Barkley owned up to the drop and said he cost his team. Barkley is one of the best RBs in the game, but injuries and dropped passes have been an issue for him in recent years. This is an error that's going to haunt him for a little while.
