Alabama CB Scooby Carter Reportedly Withdraws Name From Transfer Portal and Returns to Team

The offseason drama concerning former 5-star Alabama signee Scooby Carter appears to have ended, with good news coming in for Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide.
After entering his name in the transfer portal in November, many expected Carter to end up with a new team. However, that won't be the case, insider Matt Zenitz reports.

His name was withdrawn from the transfer portal this morning.
Last month, Saban said he was leaving the door open for Carter to return to the team. The DB reportedly missed a class during the fall semester and was suspended for a game by his head coach shortly after. He subsequently entered the transfer portal and had one foot out the door in Tuscaloosa.
“Scooby can have another opportunity to be on the team. If he wants to start with the team next semester in school, we’ll give him another opportunity at that time, if he did okay in school,” Saban said during a press conference in late December. “We are trying to be supportive and help him to do the things that he needs to do to have a chance to be successful as a person, as a student-athlete and as a player."

A member of the 2019 recruiting class, Carter signed with Bama over offers from Oklahoma, Clemson, Oregon and many others. He redshirted this past season, and it looks like hope will spring eternal for him in 2020.
