Scott Boras' Clients Have Made $1 Billion Already This Offseason and That Almost Feels Wrong
By Michael Luciano

The biggest winner of the 2019-20 MLB offseason hasn't thrown one pitch in a major league uniform. Agent Scott Boras has once again proved who is the true king of the winter months across baseball.
Boras, who represents several high-profile clients across baseball, has already negotiated seven finalized contracts, and the total money from those deals has exceeded the $1 billion mark.
And just like that Scott Boras has eclipsed the $1 billion mark in contracts this winter

Boras was behind all three of the biggest free agent deals of the offseason. He orchestrated Anthony Rendon's deal with the Los Angeles Angels, Stephen Strasburg's return to Washington, and Gerrit Cole's $324 million payday with the Yankees.
The NFL and NBA put a three percent cap on how much agents can earn from their clients' contracts, but the MLB has no such stipulation and agents' fees can be anywhere from one to ten percent. With Boras pulling in five percent from each of these contracts, his agency has made a cool $50 million this offseason.
Scott Boras has now officially surpassed over $1 billion in negotiated deals this winter.

The breakdown:
Cole: $324M
Rendon: $245M
Strasburg: $245M
Ryu: $80M
Moustakas: $64M
Keuchel: $55.5M
Watson: $3M pic.twitter.com/n8RtzahAAH
Boras is the best in the business for a reason, but this offseason has been absurd even for an agent of his caliber. It's hard to say that he doesn't deserve this payday.
