Scott Boras Made an Absurd Amount of Money at Winter Meetings
One man is behind all the mega-deals this MLB offseason for the likes of Gerrit Cole, Anthony Rendon, and Stephen Strasburg, and that man, predictably, is super-agent Scott Boras.
But he's...well, he's not just in it for his clients.
Agents get hefty commission from all these high-dollar deals, and Boras has made himself even richer with this offseason.
That figure is correct. Boras has made his company $40.7 million in a matter of three days, with plenty more major paydays ahead of him. Huge week for Boras Corp, and an impressive time to be rocking their gear, Gerrit Cole!
Boras is smart, because while he reps the big names, he also takes on guys one tier below.
The Mike Moustakas deal ups his total to $43.9 million this offseason, with deals yet to be signed for several other players, who should be earning over $10 million.
Boras is also one year removed from getting Bryce Harper a $330 million deal with the Philadelphia Phillies. The list goes on and on for an agent who players trust to get them the most money possible.
As long as teams keep shelling out the cash, Boras is going to continue to set contract records, and keep his pockets full as well.
