Things have been going pretty great for the Yankees this season, as the team currently sits in first place in the AL East despite a slew of injuries to some of their star players. The excellent work of GM Brian Cashman has been put on full display this season, and he seems to have continued that trend with his draft selections this week.

One scout has ranked the Bombers as having the best draft through the first 10 rounds.

What's so impressive about the Yankees draft is that they have consistently picked at the tail end of every round. The team's first pick was 30th overall in the first round.

The Yankees first-round pick was Anthony Volpe, an 18-year-old shortstop and New Jersey native. Volpe has garnered high praise for being awfully close to a 5-tool talent. Scouts have praised his solid bat, quick hands and above-average speed.

Another Yankees pick that has garnered a lot of praise is 38th-overall selection TJ Sikkema. Cashman acquired the pick from the Reds in the Sonny Gray trade this offseason, and turned it into a 20-year-old lefty with high upside.

The Yankees have an embarrassment of riches right now, and a great draft would just add to an already incredible stockpile of talent.
