In recent years, the Seattle Seahawks have been held back by the play of their offensive line. Even though quarterback Russell Wilson is a very mobile quarterback, it wouldn't hurt for the franchise to give him some legitimate protection.

But for some reason, the front office continues to look for patchwork opens in free agency season after season. On Sunday, the Seahawks signed offensive guard Chance Warmack to a one-year contract.

Warmack saw plenty of success when playing college ball with the Alabama Crimson Tide. In his four years at Tuscaloosa, Warmack won the BCS National Championship three times and was named an All-American during his senior season.

In 2013, Warmack was selected tenth overall by the Tennessee Titans. Through the early stages of his NFL career, Warmack never lived up to the hype that followed him throughout the draft process.

After just four seasons, the Titans opted to let Warmack enter free agency. Shortly afterward, Warmack found a home with the Philadelphia Eagles as a rotational lineman, and in his very first season with the team, won Super Bowl LII. However, he sat out the 2019 season.

Are these the kinds of moves that are going to keep Wilson upright and the Hawks offense chugging along?

The Seahawks had a desperate need for offensive line help, especially after Mike Iupati's departure, and bringing Warmack aboard to fill in alongside Duane Brown, DJ Fluker and BJ Finney doesn't seem to be a championship decision.
