This Seahawks-Dolphins Draft Day Trade Could Land Seattle Justin Jefferson
By Michael Luciano
The Seattle Seahawks made fools of the rest of the NFL when they selected DK Metcalf 64th overall in the 2019 NFL Draft. Metcalf went on to have a very promising rookie season in Seattle, but the Seahawks could look to improve their receiving corps in what should be a great draft for wideouts.
One target who would fit perfectly into their scheme is LSU wide receiver Justin Jefferson, although Seattle might need to trade up to select him. The Miami Dolphins at pick No. 18 could be the perfect team to trade with, as this front office has shown how much they love acquiring more and more assets.
Seattle could part with the 27th overall pick in the draft as well as one of their two second-round picks to make the leap from pick No. 27 to pick No. 18. Doing so would allow Miami to continue rebuilding their substandard roster via the draft, as they would have six picks in the first two rounds. Either that, or Miami could trade back up with their plentiful assets if there was someone they still want but didn't want to take at No. 18.
Seattle would also end up with Jefferson, a crafty route runner with the ability to separate easily and make plays with the ball in his hands.
The arm of Russell Wilson is what will take Seattle deep into the playoffs this year, so why not give him some new toys to play with? Lining up Metcalf and Tyler Lockett outside with Jefferson in the slot would make the Seattle air attack a unit that keeps defensive coordinators up at night.
