Seahawks Fans Got Unintentionally Trolled by Their Own 2020 NFL Draft Hats
By Michael Luciano
The NFL finally quenched the thirsts of the fashonistas who were wondering what New Era's official 2020 NFL Draft hats would look like. Most of them are pretty sweet, as they eschewed the bold colors and odd designs of years past for a sleek, black look. Team logos and slogans are decked out in what appear to be bright colors to simulate the neon light tubings of downtown Las Vegas, where the draft was originally supposed to be held.
The Seattle Seahawks' hat, however, could stand to be improved just as tad, as the phrase "WE ARE 12" plastered on the side of the hat could become an issue.
The Seahawks, who retired the No. 12 jersey for their fans -- the "12th man" -- use the slogan frequently in their marketing, but this just gives rivals new ammunition to mock them with. "We are 12," as in "we are 12 years old," is bad enough, but some Redditors have pointed out that this could also be used to poke fun at Seattle's 1-2 record in Super Bowls.
Still, the design is cool, as the navy blue, silver, and green all pop against the black, and that is enough for some to overlook this odd marketing campaign.
As cool as the hats look, you can bet that 49ers and Rams fans are going to needle Seahawks fans until the end of time, as their ill-conceived slogan is primed and ready for mockery on social media.
