Seahawks Fear Season-Ending Knee Injury For Center Justin Britt
By Michael Luciano
The Seattle Seahawks might have just lost their most talented interior offensive lineman for the rest of the season.
Center Justin Britt, who has manned that spot since the 2016 season, suffered a serious knee injury during Seattle's matchup against the Atlanta Falcons. While the full extent of the injury is not yet known, many around the team fear that Britt has played his last snap of football in 2019.
Britt, a former second round pick out of Missouri, has missed just two starts since being drafted in 2014. During a time when Seattle had one of the worst offensive lines in the league (thanks, Tom Cable), Britt was the lone standout.
With Britt sidelined, former sixth round pick Joey Hunt has entered the game to replace him. It'll be a trial by fire for Hunt against this Falcons defense.
It's hard to underscore what Britt's presence on the field and in the locker room means to this team. This will be a tough pill for the Seahawks to swallow as they look to stay in contention in the NFC.
