Seahawks Get Best Update Possible on Injured WR Tyler Lockett
By Thomas Carannante
Seattle fans were gravely concerned when the the Seahawks were forced to play without star wide receiver Tyler Lockett at the end of their Monday Night Football thriller against the San Francisco 49ers.
Lockett's leg contusion continued to swell and it was believed further complications could develop as a result, but the team has since received a tremendously positive update on his status.
Russell Wilson's favorite target should be good to go against the Eagles in two weeks.
The bye week couldn't have come at a better time for the Hawks.
Seattle's medical staff was worried the contusion could result in compartment syndrome, which would've undoubtedly kept Lockett out for some time. However, it was reported on Tuesday that he wouldn't need surgery, following a hospital visit, so it appears he's recovering quite rapidly, given what we now know.
The Seahawks are fighting for the division, and now have a promising path after taking down the 49ers, crawling to within a game of them in the standings. With upcoming games against the Eagles, Vikings and Rams, Wilson will need Lockett on the field. The veteran wideout already has a career-high 62 receptions for 793 yards and 6 touchdowns, which is production this offense needs to make a deep playoff run.
