It Sounds Like Seahawks' Latest Reported Offer to Jadeveon Clowney is No Longer on the Table

At some point, the Seattle Seahawks are going to have to move on from Jadeveon Clowney for good if he won't take their honest-to-goodness best offer. Waiting too long could hurt the team's chances of adding other potential pieces to help the team in 2020, after all.
Clowney was originally asking for a reported $20 million annually, but lowered that by a few million after he had no takers. The latest report is that the Seahawks had an offer on the table that has been pulled as the defensive ends continues to hold out for the most money possible.
Re latest reports on Jadeveon Clowney & #Seahawks: Was just told while Seattle remains open to Clowney returning, the economic situation has notably changed over last couple months since both sides spoke. The starting pt would be very different. Still, not in the air right now.

The Seahawks have more leverage now that no other teams met his demands. Not taking Seattle's best reported offer -- one year and $15 million -- may mean he ends up taking the same amount of money, but in a different city. That would defeat the whole point of his negotiations with the Seahawks, of course.

The Cleveland Browns were also reportedly interested in Clowney, but the player was understood not to be especially keen on playing in The Land. Clowney will now have to make a decision as to whether big money is more important than where he plays. It's just not conceivable that he'd still be on the sidelines when football kicks off again this season.
