Unfortunately for Pete Carroll and the Seattle Seahawks, the news following a rough loss to the Cardinals on Sunday is only getting worse. Star running back Chris Carson went down with a serious-looking injury against Arizona, with fans out there fearing it could cost him his season.

On Monday morning in Seattle, Carroll confirmed his starting back has suffered a fracture in his hip. Yup, Carson is done for the year, joining fellow Seattle RB C.J. Prosise.

Carson was a workhorse for the Hawks, running the ball 278 times (tied for third-most in the NFL) for 1,230 yards and seven touchdowns. In his first full year as the starter, Carson exceeded even the mightiest of expectations.

However, the NFL can be a cruel place sometimes. A hip fracture is obviously a worrisome injury, so the organization will look to take their time with Carson and make sure he can return to full health during the offseason.

With Carson out for the year, Seattle is actually looking at bringing in Marshawn Lynch to make plays for the Hawks once again at CenturyLink Field. While getting Beast Mode back in town would be sweet, losing Carson right now truly stinks for fans out there. Terrible timing, no doubt.
