Seahawks Rookie WR DK Metcalf Expected to Play Week 1 Following Release of Depth Chart
The Seahawks made headlines when they acquired star defensive end Jadeveon Clowney, but now news from the other side of the ball is making waves.
The team's first unofficial depth chart after cutdown day was released, and rookie DK Metcalf is listed as a starting wide receiver opposite Tyler Lockett.
The jacked rookie receiver caught everyone's attention around the draft with his unbelievable workout videos, but he's clearly shown more in practice than just his lifting routine to earn the starting gig.
The Seahawks selected Metcalf with the 64th pick in the second round of April's draft, and he's been developing a chemistry with quarterback Russell Wilson ever since.
In three seasons at Ole Miss, Metcalf recorded 67 receptions, 1,228 and 14 touchdowns. He and Tennessee Titans rookie receiver A.J. Brown formed arguably the best receiving tandem in college football last season before injuries cut his year short.
It's likely this will not be the exact depth chart come game day, but it's a good sign for Metcalf's progress with the organization, especially after he underwent knee surgery.
