Part of the appeal of the new-look XFL lies in the fact that some players could parlay stardom in this league to a shot in the NFL. For quarterbacks like Houston Roughnecks gunslinger PJ Walker, a return trip to the big time could be legitimately drawing closer given his standout performance so far this season.

The Seattle Seahawks sent several members of their personnel department to watch Walker take on the Seattle Dragons. According to ESPN announcer Steve Levy, the Seahawks see a little bit of Russell Wilson in Walker's game.

Walker, a former star at Temple, spent a few seasons as the No. 3 quarterback with the Indianapolis Colts. He has since become the face of the revamped XFL, as he has run June Jones' run-and-shoot offense to perfection. Walker has thrown for 15 touchdown passes this season against just four interceptions, and he has the Roughnecks standing alone as the only undefeated team in the league.

If anyone around the XFL deserves to make it to the NFL stage, it's Walker and his golden right arm.

Walker, along with St. Louis BattleHawks quarterback Jordan Ta'amu, has distanced himself from the rest of the quarterback crop in the upstart league. Given how he's performed, it would be a major surprise if he isn't on an NFL roster by this time next season.
