Seahawks Sign RB Robert Turbin After Chris Carson Injury
By Michael Luciano
The Seattle Seahawks need a steadying force to re-enter their backfield after a season-ending injury to running back Chris Carson, and Pete Carroll has opted for a familiar face.
The Seahawks brought in Robert Turbin, who played for three seasons in Seattle, to a deal. He has not played in the NFL this season.
A former fourth-round pick out of Utah State, Turbin was teammates with Seahawks star linebacker Bobby Wagner. He spent three seasons with both the Seahawks and Indianapolis Colts, amassing a total of 1,354 rushing yards and nine touchdowns on the ground. Turbin was a member of the Seahawks team that defeated the Denver Broncos 43-8 in the Super Bowl.
With Carson and Rashaad Penny both out for the year, Turbin will add a more physical competent to the offense.
Fret not, Seahawks fans. Bringing back a familiar face in Turbin does not mean that they have ruled out bringing in Marshawn Lynch. Those two in the backfield once again could be the magic touch that fixes Seattle's backfield.
