Seahawks Signing Local Product Anthony Gordon as UDFA is Perfect Landing Spot

Anthony Gordon followed in the footsteps of Gardner Minshew as the starting quarterback at Washington State in 2019 and absolutely lit up opposing defenses in the pass-heavy offense. He finished with 5,579 passing yards and 48 touchdowns, only beaten out by Joe Burrow in both categories.
Gordon stands 6-3 and is an intriguing NFL prospect after putting up such big numbers in college. He will need some time to develop and has reportedly landed with an NFL team as an undrafted free agent.

The quarterback is staying in the Pacific Northwest with the Seattle Seahawks and is the only other quarterback on the depth chart behind Russell Wilson. This is a perfect opportunity for Gordon to develop as he won't be expected to play anytime soon.

Sometimes being drafted or signed to be a backup is a blessing in disguise. Gordon is going to a Super Bowl contender in Seattle and is learning behind Wilson, who seems open to helping younger players succeed. The former Cougar will get years to adjust to the NFL game after throwing it as much as possible in Mike Leach's offense.
The Seahawks are signing a player who had a 71.6% completion percentage last year as well. That adds to his impressive production and while one can downplay the numbers because of the WSU offense, it is not easy to be that accurate. This is the ultimate low-risk, high-reward signing for the Seahawks.
