Sean Avery in Court After Allegedly Hitting Car With Scooter Over Bike Lane Dispute
By Adam Godfrey

Sean Avery was known for being a feisty, aggressive player who got under everybody's skin to help out his team.
Avery may be best known for his antics when his New York Rangers took on the New Jersey Devils, and he waved his stick in front of Martin Brodeur's face and pushed him into the net. But most recently, Avery found himself in the news for another incident-- hitting a car with his scooter. It was enough to land him in court on Monday.

Avery has been a major advocate for bike lanes in New York City being off-limits to cars in any and every way, and has made it known that he will let you hear it if you block a bike lane with your car.
On his Instagram story, he frequently posts videos of himself calling out drivers who block the lanes. Avery may have taken things to the next level here, however.

I wouldn't have thought in a million years that @imseanavery would be one of my favourite ex-NHLers to follow, but here we are!
The former tough guy has been very popular in the media recently, with his videos on Instagram, news breaking tweets on Twitter, and responses to fans on both outlets. If he were to be convicted of the crime, he could face up to one year in jail, and his followers may not be too happy about that.
