Sean McVay Opens Up About Getting Dominated by Bill Belichick in Super Bowl LIII
By Kevin Aquino

To put it simply, Sean McVay and the Los Angeles Rams weren't prepared for what their opponents had in store for them in Super Bowl LIII. And to be fair, they weren't playing just anyone. No, they were stuck facing Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots.
They struggled.
There are hard lessons learned when Belichick takes you to school in the super bowl. Sean McVay was honest and open with @CharlesRobinson on the matter: https://t.co/FAThmznWVT

McVay recently spoke to Yahoo Sports about how his team ended up only scoring 3 points against the Pats despite sporting one of football's most lethal offenses all season long.
“The reality is I didn’t give us a chance really to have offensive production, period,” McVay said, admitting that he didn't make effective use of quarterback Jared Goff's abilities.
Belichick threw out defenses unfamiliar to McVay, and it was enough to limit the Rams all night. The young challenger wasn't able to anticipate those looks, and as a result, stubbornly trudged on without making necessary changes to the offensive game plan.
You don't get six Super Bowl rings by showing up on the biggest night of the season and giving the opponent exactly what they expect. McVay got schooled by Belichick-- but at least the former has a good mentality about things going forward.
Ways to be a Craftsman. That’s what I talked about last night to the Rams. It was my 3rd year speaking to the team and I can’t say enough about Sean McVay, his leadership and the the guys on this team. Thankful to be a small part of their journey. pic.twitter.com/ggHF7nKD0S

“There’s a security in their vulnerability that they still need to learn things. And let’s be honest, I certainly don’t have it all figured out, either.” McVay said.
In so many ways, the guy has his head screwed on right. That only means good things for these Rams in the years to come.
