Sean Payton Reveals He's Been Cleared After Battle With Coronavirus
The coronavirus pandemic has affected people in all walks of life. New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton was one of the main figures in sports to test positive for the disease and bring awareness to the seriousness of our situation.
Louisiana has been hit particularly hard, and Payton showed anyone could catch coronavirus, even the rich and famous. Uplifting news emerged Wednesday night that the Saints head coach was cleared of the illness, which gives sports fans a positive spin, for once.
Sean Payton says on WWL Radio that he was “cleared” yesterday after being diagnosed with COVID-19 last week. He was tested a week ago Monday & received the results on the following Thursday. He’s 10 days out from when his symptoms 1st began. “I’m feeling a lot better,” he said.

Payton feeling better is great news and could provide some hope to those in Louisiana and around the country. He has also provided a voice of authority when it comes following proper social distancing guidelines, and hopes to remain a leader in the community about this issue along with LSU head coach Ed Orgeron.

"We try asking nicely and we trying saying, 'Hey, look, this is the deal.' And then you still see behavior that makes you upset. Just picture everyone's got a hand grenade on them. How about that? So stay away from everybody."
As scary as these times are, we need to take the small victories we're provided. Now, Payton can turn his focus to aiding our medical professionals in their everyday battle with this deadly virus, and we should do the same while practicing the guidelines they preach.
