Sean Payton Tweets Perfect Response to Brandon Marshall's Shade on 'First Take'
By Brady Williams
On ESPN's "First Take" Thursday, former six-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Brandon Marshall offered up his thoughts on the current situation in the NFC South. After Tom Brady's recent move to Tampa Bay, the longtime pas-catcher believes that the Bucs are going to be the top team in the division for the first time since 2002, reclaiming supremacy at the expense of the New Orleans Saints.

His take isn't an excessively unpopular one, but the premature claim was certainly enough to draw the ire of fans of the incumbent NFC South champs. Most prominently of all, Saints head coach Sean Payton took a moment to mock Marshall's fortune-telling abilities.
Payton's GIF, an excellent reference to Zoltar from the Tom Hanks movie "Big," is certainly defensive, but it's not unwarranted. The Saints have won the NFC South in each of the last three seasons, finishing 13-3 in 2019. With such a solid roster, they are poised to be contenders again when play resumes. The implication that the Bucs can suddenly topple them is admittedly bold despite the iconic status of TB12.
Payton has shown no mercy on Twitter lately, and it's hard to blame him given all the time he's got on his hands during these days of quarantine. He recently tweeted a coded message about the Atlanta Falcons' blown 28-3 lead over New England in the Super Bowl, proving that no NFC South rival is safe from his troll-tastic ire.
You'd be hard-pressed to find anyone who thinks the Saints' championship window is already closed, and Payton's ruthless Twitter finger is sure to help Saints fans find some entertainment out of Marshall's harsh remarks.
