Payton is a singular figure in Saints history, leading the once-lowly franchise to its first-ever Super Bowl title nine years ago. First hired in 2006 at the age of 42 as New Orleans recovered from the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, he went on to become the winningest coach in team history.
Overall, Payton has coached the Saints to five NFC South titles and seven seasons with double-digit wins.
Can confirm FOX report that Sean Payton has agreed to a new deal with the Saints. New contract replaces some of the previous existing contract, I'm told. Bottom line: Sean Payton now tied to the Saints through 2024 season

This was a no-brainer for the Saints, who just wouldn't be who they are without their iconic head coach. Let the good times keep rolling in NoLa.
