It seems as though the police may have made another massive stride in bringing those involved in the attempt on David Ortiz's life to justice.
Dominican law enforcement have made a second arrest in connection to the shooting of the Boston Red Sox icon.
A report from a spokeswoman from the national prosecutor's office in the Dominican Republic told the Associated Press that the police made the second arrest, though they have no indication the person they detained is the shooter. The police also have yet to find a motive for the shooting.
The police arrested the first suspect, Eddy Feliz Garcia, in the hours following the shooting. Multiple videos surfaced on social media of Garcia being beaten by bystanders.
Ortiz is currently recovering in Boston after he was transported there by a plane chartered by the Red Sox. He received a police escort the hospital upon his arrival.
The resilient slugger took his first steps following the shooting on Tuesday and is reportedly in good spirits.
As he continues his long path back to good health, the hope remains that his would-be killers turn up in the near future.
