Newark's own Shakur Stevenson, the up and coming 22-year-old who's been making real noise in the featherweight division, is set to take on Alberto Guevera in a quest to stay undefeated-- and state the best possible case for his first career title fight as soon as next year.

At 11-0 and only gaining in confidence, Stevenson is a big favorite in this bout, to say nothing of his home-field advantage. It's fitting that the 2016 Olympic silver medalist is having his first-ever headlining bout in the friendly confines of Newark, but that's only more pressure on the kid to put on a master class and send a shot across the bow of the rest of the featherweight division-- especially its WBO champ, Oscar Valdez.
