Shaq Claps Back at Kobe Bryant Criticizing His Work Ethic With Savage Roast in Instagram Comments
By Karl Rasmussen
Kobe Bryant recently sat down for an interview with Patrick Bet-David, during which the topic of Shaquille O'Neal's dominance came into question.
One of the main sticking points of the conversation was Shaq's work ethic, with Bryant claiming he could have won 12 rings if the big fella shared his same 'Mamba Mentality.'
"He'd be the greatest of all time," Bryant said of O'Neal. "He'd be the first to tell you that, for sure."
Well, Shaq wasn't about to let his old running mate get the last word, and offered some savage constructive criticism to Kobe in the comment section of the video.
O'Neal definitely didn't hold back here, taking a jab at Kobe for his struggles in the 2004 NBA Finals, during which a then-25-year-old Bryant shot 38.1% from the field and 17.4% from the beyond the arc. The Lakers were taken down by the Pistons in five games.
But that wasn't all. O'Neal also gloated in the fact that he has a statue outside STAPLES Center, while the Black Mamba has yet to receive one in his honor. While Kobe will certainly be idolized with an honor of his own in time, Shaq's not going to let him forget whose statue was constructed first.
