Singer Michael Bublé Takes Funny Shot at Former Blue Jackets Stars for Leaving at Columbus Concert
By Charles Nason
Of all the people to acknowledge that the Columbus Blue Jackets lost their most prominent stars, singer Michael Bublé was probably the last you would expect.
At his Columbus show at the Schottenstein Center Sunday night, Bublé took a friendly jab at three former Blue Jackets. NHL stars Artemi Panarin, Sergei Bobrovsky and Matt Duchene found themselves as the brunt of the singer's joke.
The Columbus crowd probably all agreed with Bublé in his assessment that the three stars were "idiots" for joining new teams and leaving the city.
Only one of the players, Matt Duchene, found time to respond to Bublé's joke with a jab of his own. Duchene, now a member of the Nashville Predators, responded to Bublé asking if his joke meant the Duchene family needed to find a new favorite Christmas album.
Bublé's joke was clearly made with no negative intentions, just poking fun at the three former Blue Jackets. With their lack of presence on social media, Panarin and Bobrovsky might not ever even see that the singer called them out in front of a crowded Columbus audience.
