Skip Bayless Says Odell Beckham Jr Has 'Privately Suggested' He Wants to Play for Packers
By Scott Rogust
The Cleveland Browns just can't escape the drama, even though most of it is self-inflicted. Perhaps the biggest story of their season is that receiver Odell Beckham Jr. reportedly wants out of Cleveland and has told other players and coaches to "come get [him]."
Skip Bayless, the hot take spewer and FOX Sports' resident Dallas Cowboys fan, says that Beckham has "privately suggested" that he'd like to play with Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers.
As is the case with anything Bayless says, you can only take it so seriously, despite his previous stint as a sports columnist.
If Beckham is to force Browns general manager John Dorsey's hand, the cap penalty won't be excessive, as he'd account for less than $3 million in dead cap. The true hurdle Cleveland faces is the return they'd get from a team, such as Green Bay, considering Beckham's career low season.
In 13 games with the Browns, Beckham hauled in 59-of-108 targets for 844 yards and just two touchdowns on the year. His struggles are linked to a lingering sports hernia injury, which will likely require surgery in the offseason.
With Aaron Rodgers hinting that retirement is around the corner, the quarterback would certainly love a receiver like Beckham at his disposal to make a push for a Super Bowl.
