Some College Baseball Managers Making More Than MLB Managers Proves the NCAA is Broken
By Joey Mauceri
It's no secret that the NCAA has a problem on their hands. Every year it seems that the corruption and lies get exposed even more, and in embarrassing fashion. It has become clear the system is broken.
This tidbit of information only further proves just how broken it is.
In an organization where the revenue-generating athletes aren't even paid, the coaches are making millions of dollars. Even worse, baseball managers at the college level are being paid more than managers at the major league level, in one of the most absurd statistics you will see.
How is this even possible?
According to last year's figures, some NCAA managers are making more than Boston Red Sox manager Alex Cora ($800,000), who is fresh off a World Series victory and Atlanta Braves manager Brian Snitker, who led his squad to the postseason.
The crazy thing is, coaches from the higher revenue generating college sports make even more than the baseball managers do. Some take in close to $10 million annually.
We know the NCAA isn't going to fix it, so perhaps the MLB can take the lead here and pay their guys properly.
