Some Patriots Fans Are Convinced Another Move is Coming After Shaq Mason Restructures Deal
By Parker White
The New England Patriots are the clear favorites in the AFC and they are already preparing for the postseason. That means roster moves to improve are already taking place, especially with the trade deadline approaching.
That included the addition of wide receiver Mohamed Sanu, as well as placing wideout Josh Gordon on injured reserve. Oh, and they restructured the contract of guard Shaq Mason.
New England is freeing up some money with these moves, making everyone believe another roster move is around the corner.
What about getting that tight end they need? Maybe another receiving threat like O.J. Howard could be in play?
I mean, why else would they restructure Mason's deal at this particular time? Perhaps it's a smart business decision on their part, but restructuring a player's contract during the season leads many to believe the Patriots need to free up some money so they can go get another talented player.
Even though both sides of the ball are pretty loaded right now, Bill Belichick is always looking to improve and make this roster better. It's abundantly clear he's doing something behind the scenes to ensure the Patriots can win an NFL record seventh Super Bowl come February.
