Someone Turned Warriors and Raptors Stars Into 70s-Style Basketball Players and it's Awesome
By Michael Luciano
Don't you miss the NBA/ABA back in the 1970's? Converse shoes and afros reigned supreme, while the 3-pointer seemed like something straight from the Harlem Globetrotters. On the court, Julius Erving, George Gervin, and Pete Maravich were tearing up both leagues.
While the NBA in 2019 has lost some of that old-school charm, Steve Noah has quenched our collective thirst by reimagining both Warriors and Raptors players as 1970s basketball stars, starting with Steph Curry, Kyle Lowry, and Kevin Durant.
You may never be able to unsee Afro Steph or balding KD (that's what he'll look like after one month of trying to salvage the Knicks).
Noah didn't stop there. Kawhi Leonard, Pascal Siakam, and Klay Thompson also got the retro treatment.
If Kawhi ever ditches the cornrows, the only acceptable style is that fro.
Draymond Green, DeMarcus Cousins, Marc Gasol, and Serge Ibaka were the last group to get remade.
With Draymond looking like Andre 3000 in Semi Pro and Marc Gasol a spitting image of Kurt Rambis, this one takes the cake.
While it's disappointing to know that we may never see Kevin Durant sporting the George Jefferson haircut or Marc Gasol with Rec Specs in game action, Noah managed to bridge the gap between old-school basketball diehards and the modern fan with some A+ graphic design work.
