VIDEO: Spanish Call of Eastern Michigan QB Mike Glass' Rampage in Quick Lane Bowl is Awesome
By Michael Luciano
The Quick Lane Bowl was going to be remembered as a 34-30 barnburner between Eastern Michigan and Pitt, but some extra-curricular activities from Eagles QB Mike Glass III, including almost punching a referee, kicked off what was an ugly end to the game. The men calling this game on ESPN Deportes were floored by Glass' sudden loss of composure in his final college game.
The most informal translation comes out to, "He completely lost it and hit the referee," which sums up that outburst about as well as anything.
The Russian commentary of that same play, as it usually is, was much more subdued and less hyped up than the Spanish broadcast.
Glass recorded almost 400 total yards and three touchdowns in his final collegiate game, but this contest will be remembered most fondly as both a Pitt win and an example of the Eagles losing their cool on a national stage.
Glass' outburst and some generally disgusting conduct from Eastern Michigan marred what was a pretty entertaining bowl game. At least we got some top-shelf calls of the game for our troubles.
