Specifics of Recent Braves-Blue Jays Trade Discussions Revealed
By Parker White

The MLB trade deadline is just a few days away, and two teams who have been widely mentioned to be active could be hooking up for a big-time trade.
According to MLB.com's Jon Morosi, the Atlanta Braves and Toronto Blue Jays "have discussed trade possibilities in recent days," and there are a whole lot of potential pieces who could fit.

Morosi mentions that starter Marcus Stroman, closer Ken Giles, reliever Daniel Hudson and infielder Eric Sogard could be fits for Atlanta's roster, while also adding that Stroman is not the primary focus in their talks.
Add on #BlueJays/#Braves trade talks: I’m told Marcus Stroman is *not* the focus of that dialogue. The Braves are more inclined to add a reliever and/or versatile bat. @MLBNetwork @MLB

In fact, Sogard has been mentioned specifically as a recent target of discussions by Morosi.
Eric Sogard could become a trade option for #Braves, given the injuries to Nick Markakis and Dansby Swanson. The Braves and Blue Jays have had recent trade conversations. @MLB @MLBNetwork

Braves GM Alex Anthopoulos, who had the same position with the Blue Jays back in 2015, appears to be more apt to add a relief pitcher than a starter, and with the recent news of Nick Markakis and Dansby Swanson heading to the injured list, this club could use a versatile player like Sogard.
Morosi also mentioned that the Blue Jays had a high level scout watching right-handed pitcher Tristan Beck, who the Braves drafted in the fourth round back in 2018, during his latest start at Class-A Florida.
