Sports Illustrated's April 2020 Cover is Impressively Depressing and Eerie
By Scott Rogust
Normally, this is the time of year where sports-loving individuals are taking in March Madness, NBA regular season action, NHL battles, and the start of the MLB season. 2020 isn't letting us have any of that.
As everyone knows, the ongoing global pandemic we're enduring has caused sports leagues to freeze their respective seasons until the world reaches normalcy again, which may not come until months down the line.
Given this is the news topic right now, Sports Illustrated decided to hit fans right in the feels by unveiling the cover of their April 2020 issue.
It's a simple photo to use, but does it ever speak volumes.
Sports Illustrated used this cover to discuss the evolving issue in sports media right now. There's no sports going on until further notice due to this viral outbreak, which is dominating the news cycle no matter where you look.
Yes, it's hard to escape this pandemic, but the show must go on in terms of general sports content.
Just like Sports Illustrated, 12up will continue to provide you with news on how this invisible enemy is affecting athletics, while also supplying you with sports updates once they trickle in, as well as our always thought-provoking opinion pieces.
Sports will return sooner rather than later if we, as humans, work as a team. Stay safe and stay well.
