VIDEO: SportsCenter's Elle Duncan Shares Heartwarming Story on Kobe Bryant and Fatherhood
By Michael Luciano
Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant will be remembered forever as one of the 10 greatest players to ever play in the NBA, but it was clear that he valued being a father to his four daughters more than any of his accomplishments in basketball. SportsCenter anchor Elle Duncan shared her fondest memory of Kobe, as he continuously expressed what a joy it's been for him to be the father of daughters, one of whom was with him in the accident that claimed his life.
Kobe clearly loved the fact that he was the father of four beautiful daughters, and he appeared to welcome people coming to him for advice on how to parent girls.
Gianna, the one Kobe said was a better player than he was at her age, was one of the nine passengers on the helicopter that lost her life. UConn, her favorite basketball program, saved her a seat at their recent exhibition, complete with a jersey featuring her No. 2.
There is no way you can rationalize Kobe and Gianna's deaths and try to force it to make any degree of sense. The one silver lining, however, is that Kobe left this world caring for the middle daughter that he loved more than all of his championships put together.
