Spurs and Suns to Reportedly Play Game in Mexico Next Season
By Zack Jiang

The NBA has become a major global sport, with an ever-increasing number of star athletes coming from abroad, through multiple different pipelines. In order to appeal to international audiences, the league has been scheduling games in numerous foreign countries, supplementing their academy programs.
It seems the next international games won't be going too far from the mainland. According to La Verdad, the San Antonio Spurs and the Phoenix Suns are set to play a regular-season game in Mexico in 2019.

The game is reportedly set for Dec. 14. It'll actually be the second game played in Mexico, as the Dallas Mavericks and Detroit Pistons are scheduled to play there on Dec. 12, as well.
This won't the first time the Spurs and Suns have matched up in Mexico, of course, as they faced off there in 2017. It was an exciting match for the fans that came down to the wire, as the Suns beat the Spurs 108-105.

This could have been the Spurs' third game in Mexico, as they were scheduled play there in 2013. However, the arena was filled with smoke before the game began and the contest was cancelled.
It's always good to see the league continue to expand its global exposure, so hopefully the fans in Mexico will be able to enjoy the NBA action without any interruptions this time around.
