VIDEO: St. Louis BattleHawks Celebrate First XFL Win With Spiked Seltzer Shotgun
By Adam Weinrib
You only get to win your first XFL game once, and it seems like the St. Louis BattleHawks were acutely aware of their unique burden in Week 1. While most XFL cities have NFL football to fall back on if their units aren't successful, the 'Hawks are not so lucky -- St. Louis is counting on them. So after a victorious Sunday, the squad went Full Collegiate, puncturing some spiked seltzer cans and going to town in the locker room.
Is this sponsored? Absolutely. Is it delightful? Also, yes.
That's QB Nick Fitzgerald, formerly of MIssissippi State, as well as Taylor Heinecke, who was most recently a Carolina Panther.
While the XFL may be some sort of strange placeholder during the winter time to many of us, it's a lifestyle for those who are working hard to make victory a reality each weekend. Shoutout to these guys. Not how we would've celebrated, but we get it. Fewer calories than beer!
