Stadium Survey Shows Most Athletic Directors Believe in CFP Expansion
By Nick Porr

In a year where the NFL changed its playoff structure, and the MLB and NBA have both been heavily contemplating postseason expansion, it looks like collegiate sports want to get in on the fun.
Leaders in college football are reportedly looking to expand the CFP from four teams to 16, quadrupling the size of the tournament.
Only halfway through @CFBPlayoff 12-year contract there is already a growing sentiment among ADs that playoff should expand from 4 to 16 teams https://t.co/LHuDiX1p1E

According to a survey from Stadium, when the current College Football Playoff TV contract ends after the 2025-26 season, 88 percent of the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) athletic directors want to expand the playoff field.
Although this change could not take place until six years from now, it is emblematic of the "bracket hype" in the world of sports currently. March Madness, one of the largest sporting events in the United States, features a 68 team pool filled with upsets, and other leagues have taken note of its success.

Although they would be unable to make a change until 2025-2026, it seems like College Football is headed down that road. How the NCAA does so while appeasing each and every conference is a different question entirely.
