Stanford poaches Washington State head coach Kyle Smith after Cougs' tourney run

After a dream run for Washington State in 2023-24, the Cougars are now looking for a new head coach. That's because Kyle Smith has taken the head coach job at Stanford. The news dropped on Monday morning and it wasn't much of a surprise.
Per reports, Smith interviewed with the Cardinal weeks ago and he was just waiting for WSU's season to end before making a final decision. Wazzu, expected to finish near the bottom of the Pac-12 this campaign, made the NCAA Tournament and took down Drake in the first round.

However, in the second round, WSU lost to Iowa State and their dream season came to a close. Now, athletic director Pat Chun will need to find a replacement, while people in Palo Alto are excited about the new era of Stanford hoops with Smith in charge.
