Stats Prove How Much Eagles' Brandon Brooks Deserved New Deal
By Michael Luciano

Just a few years ago, Brandon Brooks, a former third-round pick out of Miami (Ohio), signed with the Philadelphia Eagles after an up-and-down stint with the Houston Texans. Flash forward to 2019, and Brooks is a Pro Bowl guard who just inked a contract extension that will keep him in Philadelphia until 2024.
The likes of Zack Martin, Quenton Nelson and Marshal Yanda all have legit claims to the hypothetical "best guard in the NFL" title, but the numbers prove that Brooks is in a tier of his own.
Brandon Brooks tore his Achilles in January. He made his way back and is playing at the highest level of his career. He has given up 0 sacks and 4 total pressures this season.

He is @PFF's top graded guard with a ridiculous 93.4 grade.
Now he's the highest paid G in the NFL. https://t.co/dEpsNYBFyD
Both advanced stats like PFF and traditional stats like sacks allowed prove that Brooks, who emerged as an elite guard during Philly's 2017 Super Bowl run, is dominating at a clip that no one else is even lose to right now.
Brooks isn't just a flash in the pan, as he has given up just one sack in his last 59 games played, which dates back to 2016. He's playing at a Hall of Fame level, yet still isn't getting his due as an elite lineman.
Brandon Brooks has been ELITE, ranking number one among guards with a 93.4 overall grade this season

Philly's offense has plenty of slow-developing downfield routes that require Carson Wentz to hang in the pocket, and that unit wouldn't be one of the most feared in the league without Brooks at right guard.
