When the Chicago Cubs play the St. Louis Cardinals and are looking for a win, they'd better figure out a way to have Kyle Hendricks make a start.

On Wednesday, Chicago came into their matchup with St. Louis one game behind them in the NL Central. However, they had Hendricks on the bump, who went seven shutout innings and struck out seven without walking a batter.

That's...stunningly normal, at this point.

In three starts this season against the Cardinals, Hendricks has allowed just one run over 23 innings of work, walking zero and striking out 13.

This isn't just a positive trend in 2019, however.

Over his last 11 starts against St. Louis overall, the Cubs right-hander is 11-0 with a 2.09 ERA.

?!?!?!?

So, when Hendricks sees that red and white with the Cardinal across the chest, it's an automatic win for Chicago.

How many more times Hendricks faces the Redbirds this season could be the deciding factor as to who wins the division and makes the playoffs.

The Cubs have two more series against the Cardinals following Thursday night's game. Manager Joe Maddon better make sure he lines up the pitching staff in way that forces Hendricks to make two more starts.
