It's becoming increasingly likely that the Pittsburgh Steelers time at Heinz Field will come to an end.

Well, kind of.

Although the Steelers will still play at their same stadium in Pittsburgh, it could be called something entirely different by the time 2021 rolls around. The speculation crested with recent news that the stadium naming agreement between the Steelers and the H.J. Heinz Company is "highly unlikely" to be renewed.

Heinz Field has been the home of Pittsburgh football since 2001. The stadium is already rich with sports history in the 'Burgh, taking the mantle from Three Rivers to host countless NFL games, multiple outdoor NHL games, soccer matches and a multitude of concerts.

Although there's been no formal release from the Heinz Company that they'll relinquish the stadium naming rights after the conclusion of the current deal, it's more than likely that it'll happen. It's just a matter of when the deal will be officially terminated and who will sign on next to have the honor.

With the amount of talk around the end of Heinz Field, there are likely plenty of new potential candidates to take over the rights to the stadium's name. Though we still heavily associate the Heinz corporation with the city of Pittsburgh, their manufacturing plant is no longer located there, and this tribute to their rise to prominence may soon be gone as well.
