Steelers fans should embrace Ben Roethlisberger's return

In some big news out of Heinz Field this week, it was announced that Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is all set to return to the team next season, as he's restructured his deal to make it happen.
While some fans may have been hoping for Big Ben to retire, he looks set for one last dance with the Steelers before hanging up his cleats. Here's why Pittsburgh fans should be fired up about this decision.
Ben Roethlisberger willingly reduced his pay to $14M from $19M in this final year of his contract and spread the cash payment through 2022, per source. It lowered the cap hit by over $15M, all so the team can make the right moves to be as competitive as possible this season.

First off, Roethlisberger's new deal lowered the cap hit by more than $15 million, which will open up so many doors for Pittsburgh in free agency. Now, the team can try and bring in some top talent to help them try and go on a deep postseason run next campaign.
Secondly, while Roethlisberger isn't in his prime anymore, who would come in and start if he retired? Pittsburgh would have been left scratching trying to find his replacement. Roethlisberger is the best option for the team for 2021, no doubt. We'll see what he can get done.
