Steelers LB Anthony Chickillo Arrested for Simple Assault in Incident Involving Girlfriend

This isn't the kind of news the Pittsburgh Steelers wanted to hear during their bye week.
Linebacker Anthony Chickillo was arrested in Fayette County this past weekend in an incident involving his girlfriend. According to WTAE-Pittsburgh, Chickillo was charged with simple assault, criminal mischief and harassment.
Details regarding the incident were not made available by police. Chickillo was released on $10,000 bond on Sunday morning.

“We are aware of an incident involving Anthony Chickillo last night and are still gathering information. Until we have further details we will not provide any further comments,” the Steelers said in a statement, via ProFootballTalk.
Chickillo was selected in the sixth round of the 2015 NFL Draft out of Miami. This year, the Steelers signed Chickillo to a two-year, $8 million contract.

Through 57 career games in five seasons, Chickillo has recorded 81 total tackles, 7.5 sacks, and 3 passes defensed.
After missing three games due to a foot injury earlier this season, Chickillo returned in Week 6, where he recorded three tackles and 0.5 sack against the Los Angeles Chargers.
