Steelers LB Ryan Shazier Being Considered for 'Dancing With the Stars'
By Andy Loughmiller
There have been several NFL stars who have graced the stage of "Dancing With the Stars," but the latest football player they are eyeing for the upcoming season would bring with him the most inspiring backstory of them all.
Rob Mills of ABC Entertainment told Variety that Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Ryan Shazier is being considered for the hit television show. Amazing.
Shazier has not played a snap in the NFL since suffering a devastating spinal injury on Monday Night Football back in 2017. Although he has not yet made a full recovery, he is still attempting to make a comeback to the league some point down the line.
DWTS always features fascinating stories about their contestants, and the two-time Pro Bowler certainly has one of his own that both football and non-football fans would be interested to hear.
Shazier was able to hit the dance floor during his wedding back in May, just 17 months after sustaining the serious injury. While his moves may have room for improvement, it's not a bad foundation all things considered.
The 27-year-old linebacker would join Jerry Rice, Kurt Warner, Jason Taylor, and several others as NFL players who have competed on "Dancing With the Stars." Should he compete, it's safe to say he'll have millions of fans rooting for him.
