Steelers Legend Hines Ward Showing Interest in Eagles Wide Receiver Coach Role

The Philadelphia Eagles have been searching for a new offensive coordinator after scoring just nine points in the team's Wild Card game against the Seattle Seahawks. Notably, former NFL star wide receiver and 14-year Pittsburgh Steelers veteran Hines Ward is interested in helping out on that side of the ball.
Ward, 47, spent last year as an offensive assistant with the New York Jets, his first year as an NFL coach. Given Ward's mastery at the wide receiver position, he makes for an intriguing candidate for the position of Eagles wide receivers coach, one he's understood to covet.

Ward would figure to be a positive hire, as his talent and locker room presence cannot be understated as a past NFL player who's mad a smooth transition to coaching.
Folks, if Hines Ward wants to be the #Eagles WR coach, by all means let that man be a coach.

Smart, physical, and was ultra productive when he played. He’d be well respected in the locker room.
While all rumors seem to be one-sided about Ward wanting to be the wide receiver coach, a separate report indicates that there is mutual interest in play.

With his connections to the Eagles via assistant coach and former teammate Duce Staley, there is little doubt that Ward will get his chance to state his case for the job. Keep an eye on this one, Philly fans.
