Steelers RB James Conner Missed Practice Wednesday After Suffering Thigh Injury vs the Jets
By Karl Rasmussen
James Conner's status for the Steelers' pivotal Week 17 clash with the Ravens is up in the air after the running back went down with a thigh injury against the New York Jets last week.
Conner was unable to participate in practice on Wednesday, which certainly doesn't bode well for his availability on Sunday.
The 24-year-old has been battling injuries throughout much of the season, featuring in just 10 games this year, including two games where he played in less than 20% of the team's offensive snaps.
He logged 116 carries on the year for just 464 yards and four touchdowns. Those numbers are a far cry from the production he provided last year, when he took over as the lead back and rushed for 12 touchdowns.
With the Steelers' season hanging in the balance, the team is certainly hoping to have the third-year RB on the field against the Ravens.
Also missing practice along with Conner were cornerback Steven Nelson and center Maurkice Pouncey.
Pouncey suffered a knee injury in the Week 16 loss to the Jets and has already been ruled out for Sunday's clash.
