Steelers Waive CB Kameron Kelly After Disturbing Morning Arrest

Nothing good happens on Pittsburgh's south side past 1 a.m. Everyone knows that.

Well, Kameron Kelly found this out the hard way, as the Steelers cornerback was arrested in the wee hours of the morning outside of Mario's, a popular bar in the area. Kelly allegedly resisted arrest, and was booked for misdemeanor counts of making terroristic threats and resisting arrest, per police.

Now, mere hours later, the Steelers reserve defensive back has been waived from the team. Terroristic threats? This was surely not a difficult decision.

Banishing him prompted another roster move, as Pittsburgh promoted safety Marcus Allen from the practice squad.

Kelly was expendable, and the Steelers don't have time to wait around for more information to come out regarding a guy who doesn't get much playing time. Pittsburgh became aware of the charges against Kelly this morning and acted swiftly, just as any responsible organization should.

Kelly allegedly told a Mario's employee that he would "knock him out" after the jukebox didn't play a song the 23-year-old requested, and then reportedly became aggressive with bar security and police.

While such charges have yet to be confirmed, the Steelers must avoid distractions as they make a playoff push with just two games remaining the regular season.
