Steph Curry Had to Back Out of 'Space Jam 2' Due to a Schedule Conflict
By Scott Rogust

After months of rumors and speculation, the cast of "Space Jam 2" is finally confirmed to contain some big-time stars opposite LeBron James. Anthony Davis, Klay Thompson, Chris Paul, and Damian Lillard will join the King in the sequel to the 1996 Looney Tunes-NBA crossover.
And as we learned, that cast could have been even bigger.
According to Sopan Deb of the New York Times, Steph Curry was slated to be a part of "Space Jam 2," but had to back out due to a scheduling conflict.

Curry was reportedly set to make a cameo in the new film. While he didn't get into any details as to why he was unable to commit, he stressed to the Times that it was "for sure" hard to turn down.

Despite the Golden State Warriors sharpshooter unable to appear in the film, there will be plenty of star power. Diana Taurasi, Nneka Ogwumike, and Chiney Ogwumike of the WNBA are also part of the cast. And hey, maybe Bill Murray and Newman from "Seinfeld" will pop up, too.
"Space Jam 2," produced by "Creed" and "Black Panther" director Ryan Coogler, is scheduled to be released on July 16, 2021.
